What is the Walk for Mental Health?
Walk for Mental Health is a community-centered event to raise awareness for youth mental health. We have, and will continue to support Foundry Kelowna.
Each year, we have a variety of entertainment and activities such as inflatables, BARK Dogs, food trucks, music, face painting, community vendors, Staff vs. Students volleyball, games, and more! As well, participants are able to hear from a special guest speaker on various mental health-related topics.
Why should you join?
Youth mental health has been decreasing over the past few years. Following the pandemic, it has been increasingly difficult for youth to navigate social life, technology, and education. Due to the high population of high schools, many students can fall under the radar and may lack the resources available to them through their school. That is why it is necessary to direct youth to other resources they can access in their community.
In the past 3 years...
Over the past 3 years we have raised a total of $35,652 for mental health services for youth aged 12-24 at Foundry Kelowna. This year, we hope to raise $15,000 in support of the new West Kelowna Foundry satellite site.
Thank you to everyone who has participated, donated, and supported our event over the past three years! We wouldn't be here doing this again without all of you.
